Partnering to Impact: Campus Grants Program

Each year, the Partnering to Impact: Campus Grants Program awards grants to areas that focus on the four following initiatives: Health and Wellness, Education, Campus Beautification, or Arts and Culture at Oklahoma State University.

2026 Grant Recipients:

Critical AI Literacy for English Teachers: Building an Open Educational Resource Hub

Dr. Nicole Tracy-Ventura, Associate Professor, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of English; Dr. Sara Loss, Teaching Associate Professor, College of Arts and Sciences, Department of English

As artificial intelligence reshapes how students read, write and communicate, many English teachers are seeking guidance on how to address its use in the classroom. This project will create an open-access digital resource hub on critical AI literacy for junior high and high school English teachers, hosted on an Oklahoma State University website. Building on the undergraduate course, Critical AI Literacy, the site will offer classroom-ready lesson plans, assignments, discussion prompts and videos that support thoughtful and ethical engagement with AI tools. Graduate and undergraduate students will collaborate to research, design and curate materials, gaining professional experience while extending OSU expertise to educators across Oklahoma through outreach and teacher networks.

Empowering Advanced Practice Nurses as Entrepreneurs: Expanding Access to Care in Oklahoma

Diane Cannon, DNP, MHA, RN, Assistant Professor, College of Education and Human Sciences

With Oklahoma’s full practice authority law now in effect, advanced practice registered nurses are able to practice independently, creating new opportunities to expand healthcare access statewide. This project addresses a critical gap by equipping APRNs with the business and leadership skills needed to launch and sustain independent practices. Through a Business & Leadership for APRNs Workshop Series, participants will gain practical training in legal structures, insurance, payroll, reimbursement models, marketing and financial sustainability. By combining OSU’s Nursing Leadership Program with campuswide entrepreneurship expertise, the program will empower at least 50 APRNs to establish clinics and expand access to care for an estimated 100,000 Oklahomans, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

Support Within Reach: Marketing Campaign for Victim Advocacy Services

Claire Leffingwell, Coordinator of 1 is 2 Many, Campus Life, Division of Student Affairs; Dr. Aleigha Mariott, Assistant Vice President Campus Life, Campus Life, Division of Student Affairs

Sexual violence remains a serious concern on college campuses, and at Oklahoma State University, student safety and well-being are a top priority — with a commitment to ensuring survivors know compassionate, confidential support is always within reach. This project will implement a targeted marketing campaign to increase awareness of OSU’s Victim Advocacy services, available 24/7 by call or text. Outreach in residence halls, Greek chapter houses, academic buildings and student spaces will connect students with advocates when they need help. The project also supports professional training and certification for Victim Advocates and 1 is 2 Many staff, strengthening the quality of survivor care and promoting a culture of wellness across campus.

The Women for OSU Wellness Courts: Fostering Intergenerational Health and Community Connection

Dr. Ina Agnew, Chief Auxiliary Officer, OSUIT Student Life; Kyle Allen, Student Life Activities Coordinator, OSUIT Student Life; Kamie Crawford, Former Director, Title IX Coordinator, OSUIT Student Life

This project will establish a community asset on the OSUIT campus by revitalizing two outdoor recreation courts. One court will be converted into a dual pickleball facility, while the second will be enhanced with new basketball game lines. This transformation creates the Women for OSU Wellness Courts, a hub for year-round physical activity serving the campus and the Okmulgee community. Partnerships with the Okmulgee County Family YMCA, The Academy of Okmulgee, and local youth organizations will support clinics and youth programming. Students will engage in sustained leadership and programming experiences, while the courts serve as a long-term platform for community partnerships, youth education and intergenerational wellness.
