Women for OSU Welcomes Three New Council Members
Women for OSU
Women for OSU welcomes three incredible women to serve on its distinguished Council. Suzanne Day, Brenda Hawkins and Kirsten Daniel began their three-year terms this fall.
Suzanne Day comes from Clinton, Oklahoma, and grew up with her single mother supporting her and her four younger siblings. Day said joining the Women for OSU Council gave her a great feeling of success, knowing she can help students achieve their goals.
Day’s Orange Passion is ensuring prospective OSU students receive all the necessary information on scholarships, leadership programs and study opportunities. She is also involved in No Child Goes Hungry and serves as the co-chair for the Backpacks for Kids program in her community.
Brenda Hawkins of Oklahoma City learned about Women for OSU after meeting current members while visiting Santa Fe, New Mexico about a year ago. Immediately she felt a calling to get involved. Being the first in her family to attend college, OSU has always been a huge part of Hawkins’ life. She credits much of her success to OSU and is excited to be a part of Women for OSU.
Hawkins’ Orange Passion is making sure young women have access to leadership roles and scholarships. She looks forward to celebrating women’s achievements and contributions as part of the Women for OSU Council.
Kirsten Daniel, a Spring, Texas mother to three young daughters, wants to ensure her children have opportunities to grow personally, academically, spiritually, socially and professionally. She believes that Women for OSU does great work in promoting well-rounded growth and a service mindset within young women.
Daniel’s Orange Passion is supporting the Spears School of Business and the missions and goals of Dean Ken Eastman. She said she is honored and excited to have a front-row seat alongside remarkable women as a member of this impactful organization.
