STILLWATER, Okla. August 14, 2017 — AT&T announced a $15,000 contribution to support Oklahoma State University’s Summer Bridge Program for incoming College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) freshmen.

“Preparing incoming freshmen for the rigors of a premier engineering program can truly make the difference between success and failure,” said Paul Tikalsky, dean of CEAT. “Thanks to AT&T’s generous support, we can help equip students with the tools and mentorship necessary to help them do well in school and in their career.”

The summer bridge program is an 18-day residential, on-campus, preparatory program designed to guide students as they transition from high school to the academic rigors of CEAT coursework through academic review, mock exams, orientation seminars and engineering design projects. In addition, the students build relationships with peers, faculty and staff, and start the process of building strong study habits with the assistance of CEAT upperclassmen as mentors.

“Providing a quality education is one of the most important gifts that we can give our young adults. It is also the cornerstone of strong communities,” said Senator Tom Dugger, R-Stillwater.

“It is exciting to see how OSU and AT&T are working together to help ensure that these students have the tools to learn and thrive in the classroom and eventually in the workforce,” said Representative Cory Williams, D-Stillwater.

“We are proud to support OSU because we believe that investing in education and helping fund programs that put students on a path to success benefits them, our business and the broader economy,” said Steve Hahn, president, AT&T Oklahoma.
