On May 14, 2022, the OSU Art Advocates and the OSU Museum of Art hosted Masterpiece Moments: “Orange is the Happiest Color.” The evening featured many exciting silent auction items, unforgettable entertainment from Wade Tower, beautiful Tablescapes designed by local artists and the OSU Art Advocates, plus live painting by student artists and featured artist Christie Owen. The event included remarks from former OSU President Burns and First Cowgirl Ann Hargis and Vicky Berry, OSU Museum of Art Director and Chief Curator. Malinda and Dick Fischer served as honorary event chairs and were celebrated for their tremendous support of the arts in Stillwater.

The evening culminated with an exciting live auction, featuring auctioneers Tom Berry and Richard Branch, that raised funds to benefit the OSU Museum of Art. We are excited to announce that we raised $122,000 for art education, programming and exhibitions. The funds raised will help support the teaching mission of the OSU Museum of Art by providing funding for:

• Guest curators, artist talks and curator-related events that support each exhibition.
• Visiting Artists — workshops, classes and teacher professional development activities that provide connections to exhibition content.
• Public School Visual Literacy Project — assists with teaching art in elementary schools, supports tours to the museum, and purchases art supplies for community organizations. The OSU Museum of Art is currently providing tours and curriculum support for schools in Stillwater, surrounding communities, Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
