Faculty Chair in Comparative Medicine
The Center for Veterinary Health Sciences has a very productive biomedical research program that focuses on comparative medicine. A $1.5M faculty chair in comparative medicine is central to recruitment of an established researcher to lead the development of the Oklahoma Center for Comparative Medicine at Oklahoma State University. A $1.5M faculty chair in Small Animal Medicine is also complimentary to our plan to establish the Oklahoma Center for Comparative Medicine.

Critical Care Centers
Small Animal Critical Care Unit (SACCU)
The CVHS Teaching Hospital’s small animal unit treats nearly 8,000 cases a year, serving patients from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas. The $450,000 renovation will upgrade the current space needed to provide for efficient space usage, adequate housing for patients, improved monitoring systems, and trauma management. An additional $100,000 is needed to provide upgraded equipment necessary to assure the best possible care and veterinary student training.

Equine Critical Care Unit (ECCU)
The number of equine in-hospital cases is close to 1,600 per year. A $3 million addition on the east side of the Teaching Hospital will contain approximately 4,600 sq. ft of new and renovated space dedicated exclusively to the critical care needs of the equine patient. Improved critical care abilities will greatly improve the quality of equine patient care the hospital can provide.

Academic Center Building
This building will provide state-of-the-art teaching facilities for veterinary medical students. The classrooms will allow increased enrollment and greatly improved computer and audiovisual technologies.

This endowed chair will provide the Dean of Veterinary Medicine resources that can be directed at advancing the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences including development, public relations, alumni affairs, marketing and faculty/student recruitment.

Graduate Student Fellowship Endowment
This endowment will provide funds to attract talented doctoral students interested in biomedical research careers. The fellowships will be used to augment existing salaries to allow the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences to compete nationally and internationally for the best students.
